Limerick's sights cluster in three areas: the medieval King's Island around the castle and cathedral; the 18th-century Georgian quarter of Newtown Pery in the centre; and the south-western edge of the city around Thomond Park and the People's Park. Most of the city is walkable in a day; an extra day lets you take in the museums properly and add a day trip into the surrounding countryside.
