Bominaco is about 30 km east of L'Aquila and most easily reached by car, as public transport connections are minimal. The SS17 toward Popoli passes through the area; turn at the sign for Caporciano. From Sulmona, Bominaco is a half-hour drive through the mountains — a natural stop when driving between the two towns. The road up to the village is narrow; large vehicles may have difficulty.
