July to September is the main hiking season, though afternoon storms are possible and the sun is fierce on the open plateau. June and October can be excellent if conditions are settled. Winter turns Campo Imperatore and Prati di Tivo into ski and snowshoe territory, but road and lift access become weather-dependent.
