A car is the easiest way to reach Gran Sasso. From L'Aquila, drive to Fonte Cerreto for the cable car toward Campo Imperatore, or continue by road when open. From Teramo, Prati di Tivo is the practical access point. Public transport exists in pieces but is rarely convenient for mountain days, especially outside summer.
