Getting There

Vasto sits on the A14 motorway, the main Adriatic autostrada from Bologna down to Bari. The exit is Vasto Sud for the marina and Vasto Nord for the centro storico. Driving times: Pescara 90 minutes north, Rome around three hours via the A24/A14, Naples three hours south via the A14/A16.

The train station, Vasto–San Salvo, is on the main Pescara–Foggia line and is served by Frecciabianca and regional trains; it is 8 km south of the town, so plan on a taxi or local bus. Pescara airport (Abruzzo Airport) is the nearest, with low-cost connections to a handful of European cities.
