Cumpa' Cosimo

Cumpa' Cosimo is a family trattoria on Via Roma that has been feeding Ravello since 1929 — the current owner, Netta Bottone, is a local institution. The menu is straightforward southern Italian: fresh pasta, grilled meats, the local fish when available. The mixed pasta plate — seven different pasta shapes with seven different sauces — is the signature dish and is worth ordering if you are hungry. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable by Ravello standards.

The interior is simple and warm, with long tables and the kind of noise that means the food is taken seriously. It fills up at lunch; arrive early or book ahead in summer.
