Castello di Spezzano

Castello di Spezzano is an 11th-century castle near Fiorano Modenese, southwest of Modena. Its frescoed rooms include battle scenes linked to Duke Alfonso I d'Este and 16th-century landscape paintings commissioned by Marco III Pio.

The castle now also houses a ceramics museum, tying the site to the Sassuolo area's ceramic tradition. It is a useful side trip from Modena or Maranello for visitors who want more than Ferrari museums and balsamic vinegar stops.
