San Martino Parish Church

The parish church of the upper village, rebuilt in 1706 on the foundations of an older structure. Inside hangs a 16th-century canvas of the Tuscan school — a minor work but an authentic one, attributed to the period when Genoese patronage brought Tuscan and Flemish painters to Ligurian coastal towns.

The church is dedicated to Saint Martin, Bergeggi's patron saint, whose feast on 11 November is still marked locally. The building itself is plain late-Baroque, typical of the Savona province, with a facade that looks out over the valley. It is worth the climb up from the coast if you want to see the old village rather than the beach resort below.
