Via Paleocapa

Via Paleocapa is Savona’s handsome nineteenth-century main street, running inland from the harbour through arcades and shopfronts. It is not a single monument, but it is where the city feels most like itself: practical, commercial, and faintly grand.

The arcades are useful in rain or summer sun, and the street makes an easy spine for exploring the old centre. From here you can detour toward the cathedral quarter, the Torretta, or the smaller lanes where bakeries sell farinata and focaccia.
