Getting There

By metro: The M3 (yellow line) serves San Donato directly — the terminal station is named San Donato. From Milan's Duomo the journey takes around 15 minutes and costs a standard Milan urban transport ticket (around €2). This is by far the most practical way to arrive from central Milan.

By car: San Donato sits at the junction of the A1 (Autostrada del Sole, Milan–Naples) and the A51 (tangenziale est, the Milan eastern ring road). From central Milan, the drive is around 15–20 minutes depending on traffic, though the A51 can be congested during rush hours.

By train: San Donato Milanese railway station is served by regional trains on lines towards Lodi and Pavia. Services are less frequent than the metro and the station is slightly less central, so the metro is generally preferable from Milan.

By air: Milan Linate Airport (LIN) is only 5 kilometres north, making San Donato one of the most convenient municipality for Linate arrivals. A taxi from Linate takes around 10 minutes. Linate is served by European short-haul routes; for intercontinental connections, Milan Malpensa (MXP) is approximately 50 kilometres northwest, best reached by train from Milano Centrale.
