Turin's principal shopping street, running from the Porta Nuova station northwards under continuous arcades to Piazza Castello. The lower half — between the station and Piazza San Carlo — was rebuilt in the 1930s in a sober Fascist-era Rationalist style; the upper half preserves its seventeenth-century Baroque arcades.
It is where the big names sit: Gucci, Prada, Armani, Hermès, and the local upmarket department store Rinascente. Pleasant to walk in any weather thanks to the porticoes. The lower section often hosts open-air exhibitions and pop-ups under the arcades.
