The train is by far the easiest way to reach Trani. Trenitalia regional trains run roughly every half hour from Bari Centrale (30–40 minutes) and from Foggia (an hour); the station is a five-minute walk from the centro storico. The closest airport is Bari (Karol Wojtyła), 45 km south. Driving from Bari takes around 40 minutes on the A14 autostrada, with paid parking lots near the harbour and free street parking further out.
