Scolagrande Synagogue (Sant'Anna)

The Grand Synagogue, the largest of Trani's four medieval synagogues, was likewise converted into a church in the late 14th century. The building functioned as the Church of Sant'Anna for centuries and only in recent decades has the original Jewish use been recovered through a small museum on site. A Hebrew inscription dated 1247 above the entrance lists the donors; the church added a baroque chapel and a baptismal font but left the inscription untouched. Worth seeing alongside the Scolanova two streets over.
