Carloforte's main pleasures are the sea and the town itself. The island's waters are part of the Sulcis Archipelago marine reserve, making snorkelling and diving excellent. The town's Ligurian character — with its pastel harbour buildings and the lingering Tabarchino dialect — is unlike anything else in Sardinia.
