Punta Volpe ("Fox Point") is one of the best beaches on this stretch of coast — a long strip of very fine white sand backed by low scrub and fragrant Mediterranean maquis, with shallow turquoise water that makes it suitable for children and excellent for snorkelling off the rocks at the headland. Access is by a short dirt track from the main road.
The beach is less crowded than those immediately adjacent to the Porto Rotondo marina, and the backdrop of low hillside and clear horizon gives it a wilder feel than the more manicured resort beaches further north. There is a beach club operation in high season, but plenty of free access along the sand.
