Castello Incantato

Castello Incantato is Sciacca's strangest sight: an outdoor garden filled with carved heads by Filippo Bentivegna. The figures stare from rocks, walls, and trunks, creating a place that is funny, unsettling, and oddly moving all at once.

Do not expect castle walls or tidy gallery labels. The point is the accumulation, the sense of one man's private world expanding until it filled the landscape around him. It is a short visit, but a memorable one.

A story
Filippo Bentivegna spent decades carving faces into stone and trees, turning his property into a private kingdom of staring heads. It is one of Sicily's oddest art environments, and it is better approached as a personal obsession than as a conventional museum.
