Lapillo, just off the small piazza by the church, makes the best gelato on the island. The flavours rotate with what is in season — ricotta and pistacchio of Bronte are reliable, the granita of mulberry or almond is excellent on a hot afternoon.
There are a couple of small tables on the lane outside. Pair a coffee granita with a brioche bun for the proper Sicilian breakfast.
