At 3,152 metres, Piz Boè is the highest peak in the Sella group and one of the most popular 3,000-metre summits in the Dolomites — partly because the cable cars do most of the climbing for you. From the top of Sass Pordoi or the Val Mesdì lift, a marked path winds across the plateau to the summit in about two hours of moderate scrambling.
The summit holds the Rifugio Capanna Fassa, where you can drink a Bombardino with a view over four Dolomite massifs. Go in good weather: the route is exposed and the rock is treacherous when wet.
