In summer, Canazei is a base for some of the Dolomites' best hiking and via ferrata. The classic outings are up to Passo Pordoi and the Sass Pordoi cable car, the long traverse around the Sella group, and the ascent of the Marmolada glacier. In winter, the lifts plug into the Sella Ronda — the four-pass circuit you can ski in a single day — and the Marmolada glacier offers the longest run in the Dolomites.
In the village itself, the Ladin-speaking culture is alive: bilingual signs, traditional wooden houses, and small frescoed chapels are scattered through the centre.
