The spa season runs April to October, which is also the best time for hiking and cycling in the surrounding countryside. June brings the Classica chamber music festival, held in historic buildings around the town. The last week of August has the Mostra Mercato antiques fair. Spring and early autumn are the most pleasant times for walking — the summer heat can be intense in the Valdelsa.
Gambassi is a year-round destination if the spa is the main draw, though some trails and outdoor activities are best avoided in July and August heat.
