Pitigliano rewards slow exploration. The town is compact, perched on its tuff spur, and you can walk the full length of the main street in twenty minutes — but the stairways dropping off the edges, the cave cellars, the Jewish quarter, and the Etruscan paths cut into the rock below will fill half a day without effort.
