Scaglieri Beach

The smaller, quieter neighbour of Biodola — fine sand and clear water in a sheltered bay.

Scaglieri sits in the small bay immediately west of Biodola, separated by a low rocky headland. The beach is much shorter than Biodola — about 200 metres of fine golden sand — but the setting is more intimate and the bay is even calmer. The village behind the beach is a single line of houses, a small shop, and two or three restaurants serving fresh seafood with tables under the pines.

The water is clear and reaches swimming depth gradually. The headland on the western side has good snorkelling among the rocks. From Scaglieri a coastal footpath runs around the headland to Forno beach in about 25 minutes; the views back across the bay are part of the appeal. Easier reached than Biodola if you are driving — the road dead-ends at the village.
