Vinci is about 40 kilometres west of Florence and has no train station. The most practical approach from Florence is to drive (take the FI-PI-LI autostrada toward Empoli, then turn north for Vinci — about 45 minutes). Parking is available near the town center.
By bus, Autolinee Toscane runs services from Empoli to Vinci; Empoli is on the main Florence–Pisa rail line with frequent trains from Florence Santa Maria Novella. From Empoli station the bus to Vinci takes around 30 minutes. Many visitors come as a day trip from Florence; others combine Vinci with Montecatini Terme or Lucca en route to Pisa.
