Getting There

The Basso Veronese is most easily explored by car on a day trip from Verona. The plain is flat and the distances between towns are short: Bovolone is 25 km south of Verona, Isola della Scala about 20 km, and Montagnana 55 km to the southeast via the SP39 and SP6. A circuit taking in Isola della Scala, Bevilacqua, and Montagnana makes a comfortable day with time to walk the walls and eat lunch.

There is limited public transport to most of these towns. A few buses connect Verona to Isola della Scala, and regional trains run from Verona to Legnago (which has onward bus connections to Cerea and the eastern plain), but without a car you will struggle to see more than one or two stops in a day.
