Venice is the obvious day trip — 40 minutes by ATVO bus to Piazzale Roma, or by Alilaguna water bus from the port of Punta Sabbioni. It is one of the most spectacular cities in the world, and no stay in the Veneto is complete without it. Verona is two hours by bus and train — its Roman arena, medieval streets, and markets justify a full day. Padua (one hour) has Giotto's Scrovegni Chapel, one of the finest fresco cycles in existence.
