Lido di Jesolo is a beach resort on the Adriatic coast of the Veneto, about 40km northeast of Venice. It has 15km of fine sandy beach backed by a dense strip of hotels and tourist infrastructure — gelaterias, restaurants, beach clubs, and bars. In summer it is packed; in winter it is essentially closed.
The beach itself is the point. It is well-organised, kept clean, and set up for long lazy days: umbrella and sunbed rentals, beachside cafes, and calm, shallow water. It is a classic Italian seaside resort rather than a destination with cultural depth, but it works very well for what it is — Aqualandia and the summer sand sculpture festival anchor the family side, while Piazza Brescia is the main hub. The great advantage is Venice, 40 minutes away by bus or boat — one of the world's great day trips.
