The bar of the Bauer Hotel on Campo San Moisè, a short walk from Piazza San Marco. The interior is ornate — chandeliers, plush seating, moody lighting — and the cocktail list leans toward classics, well executed. The terrace has a view of the beginning of the Grand Canal. Beer starts around five euros; cocktails run considerably higher.
A good spot for a late-night drink away from the tourist traffic of the piazza, or for watching the grand theatre of Venice's waterfront on a quiet evening.
