Ferizaj sits on the main highway and railway line between Pristina and Skopje, making it one of the most transit-accessible places in Kosovo. The journey from Pristina by minibus or shared taxi takes around 30–40 minutes and costs very little — the vehicles leave from near Pristina's central bus station throughout the day.
The railway station has trains to Pristina and connections towards North Macedonia, though the Kosovo rail network is slow and infrequent. For most travellers, the minibus or taxi is faster and more practical. The bus station in Ferizaj handles connections to other Kosovar cities including Prizren and Gjilan. The North Macedonian border crossing at Hani i Elezit is about 20 km south of town.
