Getting There

Peja is 95 kilometres west of Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The road follows the Ibar valley and then cuts through the mountains; the journey by car takes about 90 minutes. Buses run regularly between Pristina and Peja — the main bus station in Peja is centrally located and the service is reliable and inexpensive. From Prizren, buses run north through the mountains or around through Pristina.

From Montenegro, the road over the Čakor Pass (seasonally closed in winter) provides a dramatic entry from the north; the alternative via the main border crossing at Kula is longer but always passable. From Albania, the road through the Gjakova pass is open year-round. There is no rail connection to Peja.
