Kuldīga is best seen on foot. The main sights sit within a tight loop: the UNESCO-listed old town, the Alekšupīte stream, the castle park, the brick bridge, and the Venta Rapid. Allow time to drift, because the town's value is as much in the whole preserved streetscape as in any single monument.
