The Literature and Music Museum grew out of a group of memorial houses devoted to Latvian writers and composers. Its exhibitions introduce the country's literary and musical heritage, making it a good specialist stop for visitors who want more than Riga's headline churches and Art Nouveau streets.
It is close to the Old Town museum cluster, so it works best as part of a wider museum day rather than as a standalone destination.
