Malbun is reached by road from Vaduz via Schaan and Triesenberg. There is no rail access, and no road continues beyond Malbun — it is a valley-end destination. The drive from Vaduz takes about 30 minutes. In winter the road is kept open and gritted, but a snowstorm can close it for short periods.
Bus line 21 from Vaduz Marktplatz runs to Malbun via Triesenberg several times a day, with more frequent services in ski season. From Zurich, Liechtensteinische Post runs an express coach to Vaduz, from where you change to the local bus. For most visitors, a car remains the most convenient option.
