The Valüna valley runs south-west from Steg, just below Malbun, into a high mountain bowl ringed by 2,000-metre summits. The flat-bottomed valley is closed to private cars and reached on foot, by bike, or by horse-drawn carriage along a gentle gravel road. Two Alpine huts — Berggasthaus Suceka and the Valüna Alm — serve coffee, soup, and Liechtensteiner sausage to passing hikers.
The valley is a popular family walk: pram-friendly, no climbing, easy turnarounds. It is also the starting point for serious hikes into the southern Rätikon and a winter cross-country ski track.
