Palanga Botanical Park

The botanical park surrounding the Tiskevicius Palace was laid out in the late 19th century by the French landscape architect Edouard André, who also designed parks in Geneva and Odessa. It covers 100 hectares and contains over 250 tree species — many of them unusual for this latitude — along with ponds, walking paths, and a rose garden.

In summer the park is a pleasant escape from the crowds on Basanavicius Street. In autumn the old trees turn gold and the ponds reflect the colours beautifully. The park connects down to the dune belt and the beach, so you can walk from the museum all the way to the sea without crossing a road.
