Grevenmacher is 25 km east of Luxembourg City by road. By car, take the A1 motorway east and exit for Grevenmacher; the drive takes around 25 minutes. By bus, line 185 (operated by RGTR) connects Luxembourg City's central bus station with Grevenmacher regularly throughout the day; the journey takes about 40 minutes. There is no train station in Grevenmacher itself — the nearest rail connections are at Wasserbillig (10 km north) and Bettembourg (further south).
From Germany, the town is directly accessible from Trier by a combination of regional buses or by crossing the Moselle at the nearby ferry crossing. The border between Luxembourg and Germany runs through the middle of the river here, and there is no bridge in Grevenmacher itself — the nearest road bridges are at Wasserbillig/Igel to the north and at Stadtbredimus to the south.
