Grevenmacher's restaurant scene is modest in size but consistent in quality. The local standard is Moselle fish — pike-perch (sandre) is the regional speciality, typically served with a light Riesling sauce and boiled potatoes — and the better restaurants along the river esplanade do it well. Most places have outdoor terraces facing the water in summer, which is the main reason to choose one over another.
If you are after a proper sit-down meal rather than a light lunch, look for menus that feature friture de la Moselle (fried river fish), choucroute (sauerkraut with sausage and smoked pork), and Gromperekichelcher (potato pancakes with apple sauce). These are the Luxembourgish classics. Wines from Bernard-Massard and other local producers appear on virtually every wine list, and asking for a local Riesling or Pinot Gris is never the wrong move here.
