Skopje International Airport (IATA: SKP) is 21 kilometres east of the city centre. Several European airlines fly direct from Western European cities; budget carriers including Wizz Air and Ryanair connect Skopje to a growing list of destinations. Buses and taxis connect the airport to the city centre; the bus is cheap but infrequent.
Skopje is on the main rail line between Belgrade and Thessaloniki, and trains connect to both, though the service is slow and infrequent compared to buses. International buses are the most practical overland option — services run frequently to Belgrade, Pristina, Sofia, and Istanbul, and the buses are generally comfortable.
