Tetovo is 45 kilometres west of Skopje on the main road toward Kosovo. Frequent buses connect the two cities throughout the day; the journey takes about an hour and costs very little. From Skopje's main bus station, departures leave roughly every half hour during peak hours. There is no train service.
From Kosovo, Tetovo is reachable by road from Pristina via Gostivar, about two hours by bus with border formalities. The city does not have its own airport; Skopje International Airport is the nearest, from which you take a bus into Skopje and then onward.
