De Zalm occupies a rijksmonument on the Markt — a handsome historic building that was once the headquarters of the cheese guild. Today it operates as a lively bar and entertainment venue with sports screens, pool, bowling, and karaoke. Not a restaurant in any serious sense, but the building itself is worth a look from the outside, and the terrace on the Markt is a decent spot for a beer after the cheese market.
