One of the oldest proeflokalen (tasting houses) in Haarlem, De Blauwe Druif has been serving drinks since the 17th century. In the old days, these were the places where people came to taste liquor and wine before buying — the Dutch word proeven means to taste. The interior has barely changed in a hundred years.
Today it functions as a pub, but the atmosphere is more old-world parlour than modern bar. You will find business people, tradesmen, and local politicians all mixed together. In August, it becomes one of the venues for jazz during the Haarlem Jazz & More festival.
Opens at 15:00 daily.
