Baalsbruggermolen is a restored abbey watermill on the Worm River, close to the German border. It is a modest sight, but an unusual one: the only abbey watermill in the Netherlands, and a good reminder that this corner of Limburg has always looked both ways across the frontier.
Pair it with other eastern Heerlen or Kerkrade stops rather than making a long special trip for the mill alone.
