Hilversum is compact and walkable from the train station, which is a 5-minute walk from the town centre (the Groest). Bicycle rental is available at the station; the Goois Natuurreservaat is easily reached by bike. Buses connect to surrounding towns. Trains to Amsterdam take about 25 minutes; Utrecht is 20 minutes.
