Muzee Scheveningen

Small museum of Scheveningen's fishing-village past, near the lighthouse

Muzee Scheveningen is a modest local-history museum dedicated to the old fishing village that Scheveningen was before mass tourism. The exhibits run from model herring drifters and reconstructed cottage interiors to the costumes of the local kraplap women — the traditional white cap and embroidered bib that until the 1960s marked every Scheveningen wife.

There is also a small natural-history room with North Sea shells and seabird specimens. Worth an hour if the weather drives you off the beach. Closed Mondays. About a five-minute walk from the lighthouse, at Neptunusstraat 90–92.
