Eating Out

De Koog has the highest concentration of restaurants on Texel — which, for a Dutch island village, means a decent selection of Dutch and international options aimed at summer visitors. Quality varies: a few spots are genuinely good, many are functional. The lamb is the thing to order wherever you see it — Texel lamsvlees is nationally celebrated, slow-growing on the salt marshes that give it a distinctive flavour.
