Bloemendaal aan Zee

Bloemendaal aan Zee is the next beach north of Zandvoort, a thirty-minute walk along the sand or a short bike ride through the dunes. The municipality is different — Bloemendaal, not Zandvoort — but it is functionally a continuation of the same coast, with a cluster of beach clubs that get progressively younger, louder, and more expensive as the day goes on.

This is where Amsterdam comes for daytime DJ sets, beach parties, and a particular kind of late-afternoon-into-evening crowd that does not really exist on the more family-oriented Zandvoort side. The big names — Woodstock 69, Republiek, Beachclub Vroeger — change ownership and branding every few years but the formula stays the same. Out of season, in October to April, it shuts down almost entirely.
