Vertshuset Brygga is a popular riverside restaurant on the Strømsø bank, with a terrace that overlooks the Drammenselva and the Ypsilon Bridge. The cooking is traditional Norwegian — fish of the day, reindeer, local lamb — executed with more care than the tourist-friendly setting might suggest. The fish soup is a reliable starter; the bacalao is one of the better versions in Buskerud.
Prices are Norwegian (that is, high by most European standards), but the riverside setting earns its premium in summer. The interior is cosy in winter — wooden beams, low ceilings, the standard Norwegian pub aesthetic. Booking is recommended for weekend evenings. Open for lunch and dinner daily.
