The village itself is walkable. For Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Sysen Dam, and the upper valley, you will want a car, tour bus, or a very carefully planned local bus connection.
Cycling is beautiful but demanding: the roads climb sharply and traffic can be uncomfortable in tunnels and narrow sections. Hikers should treat the plateau edge seriously, even in summer.
