Eidfjord is reached by road from the Hardangerfjord towns and by the mountain route across Hardangervidda. In summer, sightseeing buses and cruise excursions link the village with Vøringsfossen and the nature centre.
Public transport exists but is not as frequent as in larger Norwegian towns, so check schedules before building a tight itinerary. The nearest major rail approach is the Bergen-Oslo line via Voss or Geilo, followed by bus connections.
