Førde is primarily a base for exploring the western Norwegian fjord and glacier country rather than a destination in its own right. The Sunnfjord Museum and the Førde International Folk Music Festival are the main reasons to engage with the town itself; everything else points outward toward Jostedalsbreen and the surrounding landscape.
