Grottebadet is Harstad's underground water park, built into the bedrock below the town centre. Inside are tropical-temperature pools, a water slide, a wave pool, and hot tubs, which feel especially appealing when the weather above ground is doing its Arctic thing.
It is a practical family stop rather than a cultural landmark, but it is distinctive enough to remember: swimming in a cave-like pool complex under a northern Norwegian town.
